Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a suitcase robbery where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A toddler was among those injured in the event. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
