The Streaming Platform is Producing a Far Cry TV Series from the Producers of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent action-packed instalment that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for celebrating violence and insanity with equal glee, all while weaving engaging, politically driven stories. No wonder then that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two producers whose work have embodied all of those elements.

About the Series

Inspired by Ubisoft's successful video game property, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' style by having a different setting and ensemble in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as showrunners on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is original, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we have no details on what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Having the opportunity alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners constantly supports me with their steady confidence and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology show. Every title is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can evolve from season to season, while always delving into the core of people through this multifaceted and unpredictable lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to work with Rob and bring our common unconventional, daring style to the audience.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
