The defender's comeback is progressing according to plan, giving hope that the Madrid defender could return in time to play against his old club Liverpool in November's Champions League tie.

The 27-year-old international sustained a hamstring problem while playing against French side Marseille in the group stage of the competition on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off the field in the fifth minute, with early reports indicating a possible absence of around a month and a half.

Real Madrid are set to visit Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—precisely over a month since the incident occurred.

Sources familiar with the player's condition indicate that the defender's recovery is moving along positively, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold could make his initial return to Liverpool's stadium after signing for Los Blancos in the summer.

A longtime Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold earlier stated that departing from the team he entered as a six-year-old academy player was the "toughest choice he has ever made."

During his tenure with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold notched 354 games, contributing to claim two English top-flight championships, a Champions League, and the domestic cup.

After moving to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has appeared on five occasions across all competitions, totaling over two and a half hours of playing time.
