Indianapolis Colts Take On Atlanta Falcons in German Capital – NFL Week 10

Hello, football enthusiasts. Wie gehts? Alles klar I trust on this excellent morning kickoff to week 10 coming directly from Germany. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be precise where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the mighty Colts (7-2) take on the Falcons (3-5). This marks the fifth matchup played on soil in Germany and the initial in the nation’s capital.

Pre-match Highlights

As sparkly jackets go that is an real standout from the Olympic figure skater on the opening flip. A slight fluff from Sky Sports there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the commentator with an accidentally live microphone.

So, the Colts have won the toss and have elected to receive. The Colts' offense will be setting up shortly. Can the quarterback recover after a difficult performance in their last game?

Not to be outdone the singer belting out the Star Spangled Banner has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choral number for the German anthem. Classy.

First Quarter Action

Scoreless at 13:30 in the first

Here we go! And we have an exciting start after the Colts running back catches a screen pass, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right side then fumbles … only for his center to recover the fumble with the recovery. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Still scoreless at 10:51

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The gamble fails to pay off as Josh Downs cannot reel in a fastball from Jones. Prior to the failed attempt the Falcons defender put a huge hit on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. Atlanta's defense started strong as they attempt to end their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Touchdown Recap

First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36

Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was very open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That play rather sums up the first round pick’s career to date.

A disappointing start but it only deteriorates for the Falcons as they turn over possession to the Colts on the 23-yard line. The Falcons quarterback is sacked and fumbles the football.

An agile 22-yard rush from the Colts receiver sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the next snap. Kicker Michael Badgley skews the extra point wide. Oops.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. The wide receiver makes some chunky receptions to put them in the scoring area then the seas part for Tyler Allgeier to run untouched into the end zone through the middle of the defense for 13 yards. The running back finishes it off for a short scoring run of his own. The Falcons take the lead.
