It has been confirmed that beloved actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is currently in production.
An Important Reunion for Fans
The duo are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. Speculation suggests their cameos will likely occur in a brief glimpse ahead, given that the original saga concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This represents the sixth film in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.

Sunrise on the Reaping draws its story from a 2025 novel by author Suzanne Collins. It serves as the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed most of the previous films in the series.
